LINEMAN

Lineman Apprentices are expected to learn and assist in a variety of tasks related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of fiberoptic cables. 

Their main duties and responsibilities include:

• Assist experienced Linemen in installing and maintaining fiberoptic 

• Learn how to handle, use, and maintain tools and equipment used in line work

• Observe safety procedures and regulations while performing tasks

• Help in identifying defects in power lines and perform necessary repairs

• Participate in on-the-job training and other learning opportunities to gain knowledge and skills

• Support in setting up safety equipment and traffic control measures at work sites

• Assist in the construction and maintenance of underground and overhead lines

• Carry out physical tasks such as digging holes, lifting heavy objects, and climbing poles

• Assist in documenting work and reporting on job status

Job requirements 

• Must be at least 18 years of age 

• must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. 

• must be able to use tools properly 

• MUST have a valid driver's license

GROUND HAND

Lineman Ground Hands are responsible for assisting in basic construction and various tasks on the job site. 

their main duties and responsibilities include: 

• demolition

• site preparation

• backfilling 

• trenching

• pole setting

• cable labeling

• and other substation related tasks such as construction clean-up.

job requirements 

• must be at least 18 years of age

• must be able to use basic tools properly

• must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.

• MUST have a valid driver's license
